Feminism Origins?

I’ve noticed a couple of books about what we would consider to be feminist in theory, were written before  The Feminist Mystique.  The Feminist Mystique is, or at least used to be considered the jumping off point for a lot of feminist thought.  But I recently came across a book called The Fear of Women, and another called The Natural Superiority of Women. Both were written well before The Feminine Mystique. But it seems like these books were written as a response to the ending of World War 2, and when all the men came home from the fight.  Much like male feminists today, it seems to me like these guys are throwing their own gender under the bus either for recognition, or to get sex.  At least thats my take.  The problem is you do indict a whole gender for things, when not all or guilty, and most are likely not doing the things that they are accused of in the feminist material.  But there is a difference between feminists and feminism.  Or feminism, and the militant feminism that is out there.

I think we can all agree that mistreating women on the basis of gender is wrong. Labeling an entire gender as wrong is a whole new problem.  We used to call labeling an entire group, “bigotry.”  But, for the purposes of this ideology, it seems to be ok. The self-hating male feminist is something to behold.  The female feminist wants equality, the male feminist finds some kind of solace in making the entire male gender confess to crimes, whether they took place or not.  Frankly, its odd.  Modern day male feminists sort of run the gamut, from believing every male everywhere for all time is guilty of something, to pretending they care to get sex.  Look, I’m not gonna be the one to say history has gone perfectly for everybody, but I’m not gonna be the beta male sideshow clown trying to own up to things I didn’t do either. You want equality? Fight for it, debate it, convince people of the seriousness and the righteousness of your cause, if you can.  But maybe try doing it without indicting people for crimes they haven’t committed.
