I’ve noticed a couple of books about what we would consider to be feminist in theory, were written before The Feminist Mystique. The Feminist Mystique is, or at least used to be considered the jumping off point for a lot of feminist thought. But I recently came across a book called The Fear of Women, and another called The Natural Superiority of Women. Both were written well before The Feminine Mystique. But it seems like these books were written as a response to the ending of World War 2, and when all the men came home from the fight. Much like male feminists today, it seems to me like these guys are throwing their own gender under the bus either for recognition, or to get sex. At least thats my take. The problem is you do indict a whole gender for things, when not all or guilty, and most are likely not doing the things that they are accused of in the feminist material.
